Gila Cliff Dwellings

Approximately 44 miles up State Highway 15 north from Silver City through Pinos Altos is the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. The Dwellings offer a look into the homes and lives of the people of the Mogollon culture who lived in the Gila Wilderness from the 1280s through the 1300s. This wilderness is the first designated of it's kind in the United States.


The Gila Cliff Dwellings are open from 8am to 6pm,
and the Visitor Center is open from 8am to 4:30pm.
During the Winter, a single tour is offered at noon.
Summer guided tours run daily at 11am and 2pm.
