19th Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

Hot chocolate, light rain, and Santa Claus: the almost perfect combination for the 19th annual Lighted Christmas Parade in Silver City, NM. Natives of this Gila town didn't let a little rain stop them from enjoying their favorite holiday staple.

The parade began with Santa on his lighted firetruck letting all the children know their favorite time of year has arrived! Through Habitat for Humanities version of Santa's workshop, singing Elvis and poodle skirted back-up dancers, and many proud salutes from soldiers of our nations armed forces. The 2009 Lighted Christmas Parade succeeded without a hitch.

  1. When I moved here from NJ 9 years ago, I couldn't believe how wonderful the Lighted Christmas Parade was -- really amazing for a small town! My husband and I thoroughly enjoy the parade each year - - it puts us in the Christmas mood! We've even been in it a few times! Thanks for the nice post about our wonderful town! --Linda@silvercity-realestate.com
